Foodsafe I teaches how to prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure worker safety. It is beneficial for anyone involved in preparing, serving, or cleaning up food, as it helps keep customers and workers safe. Having a Foodsafe Level I certificate is also advantageous when applying for jobs in the food service industry. I have a background in the foodservice industry as a cook and manager and I am a former instructor with Coast Mountain College. I bring real kitchen experience into my instruction so students can see how food safety concepts are applied in real situations. The course includes a light lunch, workbook and materials needed. Bring your identification, pen and highlighter, water. Refunds policy is that a full refund will be granted if cancellation is due to illness, 48 hr notice required for other reasons. Certificates: Temporary certificate is issued on the day of the course and complete certificate issued by Northern Health usually within 8 weeks of the course.
